Welcome to the community

Big cities can be lonely places. But at The Marloes, community is at the heart of what we stand for; whether that’s introducing guests to local dining treats or advising on the best coffee spots, local knowledge is baked into everything we do.

Arts, culture & music

When it comes to the arts, you’re close to some of London’s most exciting independent destinations as well as cultural landmarks. Whether it’s jazz or blues at Nell’s or the intimate Finborough or Baron’s Court theatres, there’s something for every taste.

For instance, The Design Museum, the world’s leading museum devoted to contemporary design, is just a 15 minute walk from our front door. Or for more classical tastes, The V&A— the world’s largest museum of applied arts, decorative arts and design—is a stroll down Cromwell Road.

Just next door to the V&A is world famous Natural History Museum, an experience not to be missed.

Ten minutes more by foot takes you into Chelsea to The Saatchi Gallery, where they’ve been presenting contemporary art exhibitions showcasing emerging artists since 1985, discovering such luminaries as Damien Hirst and Tracey Emin along the way.

Shopping

London is famous for its shopping and you’ll have plenty to choose from with The Marloes as your base. Whether that’s or your local Tesco or Sainsbury’s, the UK’s go-to retailers for groceries and household essentials. Of course, perhaps you’d prefer something more independent or local. In which case, South Kensington Saturday Farmers’ Market or Notting Hill Farmers’ Market might be for you.

Royal Trinity Hospice is a bargain hunters paradise, featuring a range of vintage high-end and high-street fashion, that’s not only kind on the pocket but perfect for sustainable fashion lovers. Fulham Road is home to Indian Summer, a quirky, pink-painted boutique which you simply can’t (and shouldn’t!) miss, selling an eclectically curated mix of clothing, accessories, and home-wares. A short walk takes you to the famous Kings Road. This iconic street, with its swinging-sixties legacy and originally home to Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren, is where you’ll discover countless boutiques, as well as a host of restaurants, galleries and cultural hot spots. Somewhere perfect for whiling away the hours.

And that’s just on your door step. With a tube station around the corner, everything one of the world’s retail capitals has to offer, is just a few stops away.
